Method

Evidence in, conclusion out, uncertainty stated

Every VeriEV conclusion can be traced to the evidence behind it and the version of the calculation that produced it. Raw evidence is never overwritten; derived conclusions are recalculated when the method improves.

The five steps

  1. 1 · Record raw evidence: vehicle details, journeys, energy use, charging sessions, imported vehicle data.
  2. 2 · Establish the evidence level that this body of evidence honestly supports.
  3. 3 · Run the versioned calculation for battery condition, range and journey suitability.
  4. 4 · Express the conclusion as a band with confidence, never as a single precise figure.
  5. 5 · State what is missing, what remains uncertain and what would raise confidence.

What VeriEV will not do

  • · Call an estimate measured, tested, certified or verified.
  • · Publish accuracy percentages, fleet counts or savings figures it cannot evidence.
  • · Invent live weather, traffic, elevation or charger availability.
  • · Present manual or imported records as independent testing.
  • · Give a confident answer where the evidence does not support one.
