What condition is this battery genuinely in?
A Battery Passport shows estimated state of health as a band, the usable capacity behind it, realistic range in summer and winter, the direction of degradation, and exactly which evidence supports each figure.

Evidence levels
- Level 0 — Insufficient evidence
- Not enough information to estimate battery condition responsibly.
- Level 1 — Profile estimate
- Based on model, age, mileage and declared use. This is not a measurement.
- Level 2 — Observed performance
- Based on recorded journeys, energy use, state-of-charge changes or charging sessions.
- Level 3 — Vehicle data supported
- Based on imported BMS, OBD or credible telematics data.
- Level 4 — Independently tested
- Only available when evidence comes from a recognised physical or diagnostic test process.
What a passport always states
- · The evidence level and what that level can and cannot support.
- · Estimated state of health and usable capacity as ranges.
- · Realistic range bands for summer, winter and loaded running.
- · Degradation direction where enough history exists, and nothing where it does not.
- · Named evidence sources, evidence counts and the calculation version used.
- · Missing evidence that would raise confidence, and the limitations that remain.
What it is not
A passport is not a certificate, a warranty determination, an independent test result or a valuation. Manual and imported records are treated as owner-supplied evidence, never as independent testing. Where evidence is thin, VeriEV says so instead of filling the gap.
